How it's worked out
Every Mounjaro KwikPen gives a full labelled dose in 60 clicks, whatever its strength. To get a 2.5mg dose from a 12.5mg pen you take the fraction of a full dose you need and multiply by 60:
(2.5 ÷ 12.5) × 60 = 12 clicks
That works out to about 0.208mg per click, or 0.12ml for the whole 2.5mg dose. Because you're dialling less than the pen's full 12.5mg dose, a single pen stretches to roughly 20 doses of 2.5mg — about 20 weeks if you inject once a week, versus four weeks at the full dose.
A KwikPen holds 240 usable clicks in total (four full doses). If you're mixing dose sizes from one pen — for example while titrating up — the pen tracker keeps a running total of what's left, and the titration planner maps the clicks for each step.

Frequently asked questions

- Dial 12 clicks. A 12.5mg KwikPen delivers 0.208mg per click (60 clicks = the full 12.5mg dose), so a 2.5mg dose is (2.5 ÷ 12.5) × 60 = 12 clicks.
- How many 2.5mg doses are in a 12.5mg pen?
